留美研究生申请文书写作指南

　　美国研究生申请经常会在Application Requirements部分看到几种不同名称的文书：

　　personal statement / PS

　　Personal history statement / statement

　　Statement of goals

　　personal purpose

　　personal essay

　　Statement of Purpose

　　……

　　其实这都是美国研究生申请文书，只不过不同的美国的大学在申请时关注的侧重点不同，核心内容并无太多差异。

　　比如宾大的要求是酱婶儿的：

　　You may also wish to describe your background, significant personal and professional experiences related to your program of study, important aspects of your academic record, and your professional goals upon completion of your desired program.

　　塔夫茨大学的要求是酱婶儿的：

　　Please give your reasons for deciding to do graduate work in the field you have chosen. We are particularly concerned that you cover these points: What previous experiences and commitments have brought you to consider applying for graduate training? What are your chief objectives in applying now? How do you think this Tufts program will help you in the pursuit of your objectives and vocation? Please limit your personal statement to a maximum of five pages.

　　而俄亥俄州立大学的要求是酱婶儿的：

　　Statement of Intent Provide statement of your academic goals. Include information concerning your interest in and motivations for graduate work. You may wish to include autobiographical or personal data that may be helpful to the Graduate Studies Committee in considering your application. Some graduate programs provide specific guidelines for what should be included in the applicant’s statement of intent.
