I would like to talk about the Sagrada Familia, the cathedral in Barcelona in Spain. This cathedral is especially interesting because it’s not typical of any Christian architecture you’ll see anywhere else in the world. It looks like a fantasy church with amazing tall pointy spires covered in sculptures of fruits and seemingly random objects. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it’s really quite beautiful though pretty hard to describe in words in any language to be honest. I guess you’d call it an example of a more creative, adventurous architectural style. It was designed by the famous architect and artist, Antonio Guadi. It is probably one of the most famous tourist sights in Spain today, and everyone who goes to Barcelona will most certainly visit this cathedral. 
I like this monument because it’s quite original and different from all European-style churches and religious buildings. I’ve travelled quite a bit in Europe in the past and seen a lot of churches, and to me, frankly, they all look fairly similar. So, this building is quite special because it’s broken away from the typical architectural traditions of a European religious building. It’s also amazing from the inside, especially the way the light comes in through the stained glass windows and reflects upon the various elaborately decorated pillars and features of the interior. It’s a stunning monument. It makes me feel both interested in modern art, and also at peace in a famous monument which is different to most.
