Dr. ArchebeThis week we discussed privacy on social media. One idea we discussed was why people decide to post their personal lives on social media, be it in the form of writing or photos and videos showing their daily routines. In this discussion post, I would like you to discuss this phenomenon and give your position on sharing one's personal life, including daily routines, on social media.
Clairel believe that the main reason people share their personal lives on social media is because they need to feel a sense of belonging. People want to feel some kind of social acceptance from their peers. When I post a video of me eating breakfast with my family, for example, and people click on "like," l feel like I've shared a happy moment with others. What's wrong with that?
AndrewI think we need to limit what we share about our private daily lives and routines. Our private lives should stay just that: private. I think many people share only the happy moments and sometimes even brag to make other people feel envious, when in fact what is being posted is not always true. Besides, who knows what some people might do with my private information or posts?
